New Year's Day Officially a public holiday,the New Year is welcomed with gala balls and parties at hotels and clubs. Church services are also held.
 January 27 - February 1
The 34th Annual Spice Island Bill Fish Tournament. An annual event which attracts anglers from around the world.
 January 31 - February 4
The La Source Sailing Festival:The comments are always full of praise for this world renowned event. In 2002, for the ninth year, Grenada's unique ingredients
of local warmth, charm and a strong sense of fun blended so well with great sailing conditions to create a very special event - one that brings sailors back again and again and entices new competitors
who can't wait to experience "Spice Island Sailing" for themselves. The 2002 festival fulfilled its promise to be better than ever, with yachts taking part representing different countries with skippers
and crews from America, Britain, France, Italy, Holland and Germany joining Caribbean yachtsmen from Antigua, Grenada and Trinidad. The 2003 events looks to be even better.

Fisherman's Birthday Celebrations: The town of Gouyave situated on the west coast of Grenada is world renowned not only for its fishing activities but
as the town that never sleeps and where the sun never sets. The Fisherman's Birthday celebration is the highlight of the town's festivities and has it origin in the Christian
community, being the feast of St. Peter, one of the fisherman called by Jesus to be a disciple. Activities include the lighting of the town with thousands of brightly coloured bulbs,
fireworks, cultural presentations, a health fair, bonfire dinner for retired fisherfolk, school quiz and exhibitions. There are also a number of aquatic activities including
a workboat regatta.
